Tam Coc Golden Rice sits in the heart of Tam Coc, in the Ninh Hai countryside of Ninh Binh — the region often called “Halong Bay on land,” where limestone peaks rise over emerald rice paddies and the Ngo Dong River. Guests reward the setting with a near-perfect 9.7 location score, with the Tam Coc boat wharf, Mua Cave and Bich Dong Pagoda all a short bike ride away.
The hotel is built for slow, scenic stays. Air-conditioned rooms — from king and twin doubles to family rooms with a private balcony — come with private bathrooms, a minibar and garden, courtyard or lake views, while an infinity swimming pool, sun terrace and lush garden make the most of the mountain backdrop.
Beyond the rooms there is a restaurant serving Vietnamese cuisine, a coffee shop, bike hire and a tour desk for boat trips and cycling routes. Rated 9.2 “Superb” across 729 reviews, it is a calm, well-placed base for exploring Ninh Binh.

Tam Coc Golden Rice has five room types, all air-conditioned and finished with tile floors, a private bathroom with walk-in shower, free toiletries and a minibar. Couples can choose a King Room or Twin Room with garden and inner-courtyard views, each around 26 m². Families and small groups spread out in the Family Room with Garden View or the Standard Family Room, which sleep up to four. The highlight is the Family Room with Balcony — the largest at 35 m² — adding a private balcony and terrace that look out over the lake, mountains and river.
Bed configurations and room sizes are listed below for each type — all details come straight from the property.

Facilities at Tam Coc Golden Rice are geared to relaxed countryside stays. Free WiFi covers the whole property, every room is air-conditioned with a private bathroom, and an infinity swimming pool, sun terrace and garden make the most of the karst scenery. The on-site restaurant serves Vietnamese dishes, backed by a coffee shop, snack bar and in-room minibar, with a breakfast-to-go option for early boat trips.
A tour desk, concierge and luggage storage help you plan Ninh Binh outings, while bicycle rental and guided bike tours put the rice paddies and temples within easy reach. Private check-in, daily housekeeping and an airport shuttle add convenience. Good to know: there is no on-site parking and payment is cash only.
Tam Coc Golden Rice is in Van Lam, the main village of Tam Coc, in Ninh Hai commune of Ninh Binh province — roughly 100 to 110 km south of Hanoi. Most visitors arrive from the capital: limousine vans run door-to-door in about 2 to 2.5 hours, while trains from Hanoi reach Ninh Binh railway station in a little over two hours, from where the hotel is about 6 km (a short taxi or motorbike-taxi hop). There is no airport nearby; Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi is around 125 km and 2 to 2.5 hours by private car, so booking the property's airport shuttle in advance is the easiest option. Once here, the lanes are narrow and flat, ride-hailing is limited, and the handiest way to get around is the hotel's bike hire or a hired scooter.
The star attraction is right on the doorstep: at the Tam Coc wharf, under a kilometre away, local boatwomen row you along the Ngo Dong River through three natural caves, past rice fields hemmed in by limestone cliffs. A short ride away, Mua Cave rewards a climb of roughly 500 steps with the classic panorama over the winding river, while Bich Dong Pagoda sits carved into a cliff on three levels. History lovers can reach Hoa Lu, Vietnam's tenth-century capital, about 8 km north, and the UNESCO-listed Trang An complex, around 9 km away, offers longer boat routes through flooded grottoes. The signature sight, though, is the rice itself: Tam Coc has a single crop that ripens golden from late May to mid-June, its most photographed moment. The dry months from November to April stay cooler and greener; weekends and midsummer are the busiest, so start early.
